Togo: Conference on the constitution on July 3 in Lomé

The “Don’t Touch My Constitution” Front continues to demonstrate its opposition to the new constitution promulgated by President Faure Gnassingbé, marking Togo’s transition to the Fifth Republic.

On July 3, a conference debate will be held at Brother Home, in Lomé, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This meeting will be moderated by leaders of the movement, which brings together opposition political parties, civil society organizations and academics.

The objective of this conference is to make constitutional concepts accessible to the general public, in order to promote a better understanding of the foundations of democracy. This initiative aims to demystify issues related to the constitution and raise awareness among the population about its importance.
